Planning matters
Tony Bowhill FRICS FRTPI, of Bowhill Planning Partnership, presented an update on a variety of planning matters, expanding on his recent talk at the Five Counties Conference 2012, with additional content for good measure. The details are in Tony's notes (see below) and included:
- general power of competence
- pre-determination
- community right to challenge
- local development schemes
- Community Infrastructure Levy
- neighbourhood development orders and plans
- nationally significant infrastructure projects
- compulsory purchase
- New Homes Bonus
- land auction
- planning guarantee.
There had been rumours that the National Planning Policy Framework would be published on this day, but it wasn't to be as the Chancellor announced in his Budget speech that it would take effect on 27 March 2012.
The talk took place at Shaw House, a Grade II listed Elizabethan house on the outskirts of Newbury, restored in recent years by West Berkshire Council.
