The EU's new data protection legislation, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), came into force on 25 May 2018. Despite the legislation having been published two years ago and being only 88 pages long, there has been a shortage of easily-accessible, practical advice for smaller organisations, leaving many wondering what they need to do to stay on the right side of the law.
In this evening talk Guy Pullen, wearing his IT consultant's hat, will explain the principles behind the GDPR, cut through the jargon, present the steps required for smaller organisations to become compliant, and bust a few myths.
The talk will be of value to any surveyor running their own business.
Date/time: Wednesday, 17 October 2018, 6.30pm.
Venue: Little Hay Golf Complex, Box Lane, Bovingdon, Hertfordshire HP3 0DT. 10 minutes from M25 Jn 20.
Cost: Free to 3CPD subscribers and all APC candidates and students; £20.00 (incl. VAT) for others.
