Building Optimisation
Management systems are often installed in buildings, capable of generating large volumes of data which is poorly used in terms of improving buildings' performance for their owners and occupiers. In addition, the impact of human behaviour in buildings is often been overlooked.
As a result of increasing government regulation, managers are being driven to find effective ways of measuring and reducing energy consumption. Achieving meaningful results requires today's performance to be understood and coupled with techniques that not only improve the technical performance of building systems but also encourage positive behavioural change.
This talk, given by Bill Box of Carnego Systems, looked at the theory and practices available for analysing this data and turning it into useful information for improving the management of buildings. The talk included a description of an award-winning project at Reading University where energy use has been significantly reduced through behaviour change alone.
The talk took place at The Kings Hotel, Stokenchurch, click here. The Kings Hotel, Oxford Road, Stokenchurch, Oxfordshire HP14 3TA. (t) 01494 609090. Just two minutes from M40 Jn 5.
